About Jim Wade, the founder of the Business Improvement Network
Jim Wade's business background is in Information Technology, with the US-based multi-nationals Digital Equipment Corporation and NCR Corporation.
His particular interest in the world of quality and excellence is firmly rooted in his management experience as a senior line manager (at Digital, he was head of European Research & Development and a member of the European Board).
He founded The Business Improvement Network in 1997 for the purpose of promoting practical application of quality and business excellence approaches.
Jim works with managers and management teams on a variety of projects ranging from the design of communications methodologies and management systems to skills enhancement training. His clients have included organisations in manufacturing, design, advertising, law, transport, defence, public sector, communications, education, catering, banking systems, FMCG and software development.
In recent years he has introduced the technique of Open Space Technology to corporate audiences, working with organisations such as British Standards Institution, Highways Agency, O2, Orange, Royal Mail, Siemens, UK Atomic Energy Authority, the Fire Service College and the University of Bath.
